Cole's Got Talent 2021
Cole’s Got Talent is an online, live talent and trivia contest that will be broadcast over Cole’s social media channels on Monday evenings, weekly, beginning January 18 for roughly 6-weeks (skipping February vacation week).
Students were invited to submit a a brief video audition clip of their talent and upload it to the Cole's Got Talent Google Drive by January 15th (preferably sooner if possible). While we welcome singers, actors, dancers, comedians, musicians and other traditional performing artists, we encourage students to examine their skills and artistry in any area and consider submitting talents of a non-traditional nature. Examples include but are not limited to, aerial arts, gymnastics, horseback riding, martial arts, poetry, writing, a fine art demonstration, cooking, etc. (either live or pre-recorded).
- Students selected to take part can either perform live or submit a pre-recorded video of their talent in time for their scheduled appearance. (No one will be excluded from taking part in this event, but all submissions will be screened for content and subject to approval by the Cole’s Got Talent committee.)
- Contestants will be scheduled to perform on one of the 6 weeks of broadcasted shows and the winners from each weekly broadcast will be entered into the semi-finals and, potentially, final rounds. Students can either repeat their performance in the semifinal and final rounds or perform something new.
- 2 workshops will be offered to assist students in finessing their "talent" on January 7th and 11th.
- Judges will be appointed to offer feedback to the contestants with “celebrity” judges in the semi-final and final rounds.
- Dates for the semi-final and final rounds will be announced after the contestant submission deadline (January 8th) and once all the contestants have been scheduled to appear in one episode of Cole’s Got Talent.
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st ($500), 2nd ($250), and 3rd ($100) place talent show participants. 4th to 10th place winners will receive $25, as will trivia contest winners from the audience.
- Videos and live performances may be, but should not exceed, 2.5 min in length.
