Miriam ScheffDirector/Choreographer
Miriam is a performing arts teacher, choreographer and director and serves as the Artistic Director for the Musical Theater Program at the JMW School for the Arts and Choreographer/Assistant Director for Avenger Drama. Mimi has been teaching, directing and choreographing for with studios and school programs around the state for over 10 years. She studied ballet, tap and pointe under Ms. Helene Scheff for 10 years and is also trained in jazz, contemporary, lyrical and musical theatre dance. Her production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr., directed and choreographed for Archie Cole Middle School, was nominated for 8 METG Awards, and won 4. Her theatre background includes experience in stage management, lighting design, props and costuming. During her many years at Rhode Island Youth Theatre, she worked as a director, choreographer, stage manager, designer, and fundraising coordinator. Other 501c3 non profit work includes grant writing and lecturing with Chance to Dance. She is also a trained musician. Mimi also taught dance for BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life), bridging the summer learning gap through enrichment programming.
Jennifer ArmstrongLead Vocal Coach
Jennifer E. Armstrong received a dual master’s degree in Choral Conducting Performance and Music Education from the University of Rhode Island, and also a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University for Connecticut. Mrs. Armstrong has enjoyed being on both sides of stage performance. She is part of the Equity Membership Candidate Program and most recently has performed in Theatre by The Sea as Sister Sofia in their production of the Sound of Music. Locally, she has performed many operatic supporting and ensemble roles for Opera Providence. She is currently the Chorus Director at Cole Middle School, the cantor for St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church in Narragansett, and has a private studio of voice students through the Band Room in Westerly. Periodically she advises talent for pageantry and most recently had students who have gone on to win the title of Miss Rhode Island. Mrs. Armstrong lives in Narragansett with her husband and two daughters.

Sydney FayAssistant Choreographer
Sydney Fay is currently a senior at East Greenwich High School. Growing up, she spent most of her time dancing competitively and participating in as many musicals as she could. She has been choreographing for six years, during which she has worked with the Frenchtown, Eldridge and Cole Drama Departments, as well as the Experiments in Theater Children’s Company. " I am so lucky to have this opportunity to share my passion for dance and theater and I could not be more thrilled to be a part of the Cole Drama Team again this year!"
Alexa WarrenAssistant Vocal Director
Alexa Warren is a Sophomore at East Greenwich High School and has been involved with EGSD and community theatre programs since second grade. Some of her favorite roles include Cinderella (Into The Woods), Ti Moune (Once On This Island Jr.), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical Jr.), and Jasmine (Aladdin Jr.). Alexa has helped to direct youth productions for the last three years including shows at Frenchtown, Eldredge, and Hanaford. Outside of school, Alexa trains and performs with The Talent Factory in North Kingstown where she is a member of the Elite Theatre Company and has been acknowledged with multiple awards including a triple threat award in regional competitions.
